Ladykiller - The Horrible Crowes
Brian Fallon and his band The Gaslight Anthem often get compared to Bruce Springsteen, mostly due to his gravely voice and the fact that the band calls New Jersey home. On his side project The Horrible Crowes however, Fallon appears to be channeling Wilson Pickett instead of the Boss. His voice climbs from a deep baritone to a throaty scream in seconds. On “Ladykiller”, one of the bands more laid back tunes, there’s a sense of defeat and lovesick pain, one that can only be achieved with a brilliant vocal performance.
